Firstly I should say there are few if any bad times of the year to play golf in Myrtle Beach but here are a few pointers to help you decide when best suits you.

Peak golf season in Myrtle Beach is mid March to mid May and Mid September to mid November. the table on the right does not show all of the price breaks so is only a rough guide. The cheapest rates are from late May to early September when it is hot and then late November through to early February when it is a little cooler.

The peak golf seasons obviously coincide with generally the best golfing weather but winters are normally dry and sunny so are a great time to travel if you are looking for a budget holiday.

By contrast, although golf rates are cheap in the summer the flights and most of the accommodation are much more expensive so it is not necessarily going to work out cheaper than peak season.

For those of you keen on playing twice in a day there is enough daylight from April through October at least. During the winter it gets dark around 5pm.

Our favourite times to visit are May when it is 80F, sunny and the humidity is not too high and mid November to mid December when again you can expect plenty of sunshine and the temperatures are usually mid 60s to low 70sF.

Best golfing weather can be found from March through June and October through mid December. The hottest periods are July and August where the temperature is fixed firmly in the 90°s and humidity is high.

If you like the heat you will find that this period is out of season for golf so green fees are at their lowest and the courses are at their quietest.

Unlike the UK the temperature tends to build up during the day and probably peaks around 6pm.

In the winter the temperature can fluctuate radically between 40° and 70°. However, in late December and early January an average day would normally be 40° early morning rising to around 60° by midday.
