We took a look at prices for golf equipment, food, drink and petrol in the UK and compared them to the same products in Myrtle Beach. The results are based on an exchange rate of 1.83 dollars to the pound. UK golf prices are from the online 'American Golf Discount Store' so price comparisons may be even more favourable compared to UK local retailers and golf club pro shops. For food and drink comparisons we took prices from various chains which we felt were comparable. In the UK we used, amongst others, 'Browns' and 'Garfunkels'. The prices used in all cases were standard prices and not sale prices. If you start looking at sale prices for golf equipment the gap between the UK and US prices becomes even more pronounced.
