Atalaya at Huntingdon Beach State Park Hwy 17 South Murrells Inlet

The former winter home of Archer M Huntingdon and his wife Anna Hyatt Huntingdon, the American sculptress whose work is displayed in Brookgreen Gardens. Site of the arts and crafts festival in September.

Featuring more than 750 works of American sculpture, historic rice fields and a wildlife park.

Kaminski House Museum
Front St Georgetown

The original construction dates to 1769. The house contains antique and decorative arts and was previously owned by French Hugenots, a Civil War Captain and Harold Kaminski a participant in the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Hopsewee Plantation
Hwy 17 south of Georgetown

Circa 1740 rice plantation and birthplace of Thomas Lynch Jr a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Hobcaw Barony - Georgetown

Take a 3 hour tour through the 17,500 acre estate. Then visit the Center with it's history room housing Indians artifacts and exhibits explaining how rice was grown.

Hampton Plantation State Park
Hwy 17 South near Georgetown

The Mansion features sections exposing the 1700's techniques of construction. Nearby there is the 232 year old St James Church.

Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum
Mt Pleasant

Home of the WW II aircraft carrier Yorktown, the museum also has a destroyer Laffey, a submarine Clanagone and a Coast Guard Cutter. Also the Congressional Medal of Honor Museum and a Vietnam Support Base.

Fort Sumter National Monument
Charleston Harbor

Museum exhibits feature material chronicling the Civil War in Charleston.

Charles Towne Landing
Old Town Rd Charleston

1670 the site of the first permanent English settlement in South Carolina. Has a full scale replica of the 17th century trading vessel Adventure and replica colonial buildings in the Settlers Life area.

Drayton Hall - Ashley River Rd Charleston

Circa 1738, the house is the only authentic plantation house open to the public in the Charleston area that survived both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Standing on a 125 acre site and filled with 18th century detail and ornamentation.

Audubon Swamp Garden - Charleston

60 acres of black water in a cypress and tupelo swamp on Magnolia Plantation traversed by boardwalks, dykes and bridges. Hundreds of species of plants and home to birds, animals and reptiles.

Boone Hall Plantation - Charleston

A 738 acre estate where you can see the half mile avenue of massive Spanish moss draped live oaks, smokehouse and slave cabins and rebuilt Plantation house.
